The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 26th January 2026 at the institution’s Mahavir Stadium. Swami Amiteshananda Ji, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission, Haflong, unfurled the National Flag, which was followed by a general salute and an impressive march-past by the students.

After the march-past, students presented a vibrant array of cultural programmes that highlighted the spirit of unity and patriotism. At the conclusion of the function, refreshment packets were distributed to all participants and attendees.

In addition to the campus celebration, students proudly represented the institution at the Sub-Divisional Level Republic Day programme held at Deomali General Field on the same day. Their performances—including a mime act, pyramid formation, band display, and a patriotic dance—were widely appreciated by the audience and earned them high praise.

The 42nd National Youth Day was observed on 12 January 2026 across Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar institutions to commemorate Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary.

The program featured speeches, bhajans, and readings from Swamiji’s works at the Secondary and Higher Secondary sections, as well as Sarada Vidyalaya. Smt. Indira Tamoung Riba, Assistant Commissioner of Deomali, addressed students at the Vivekananda Statue, emphasizing the positive use of time and senses while urging youth to overcome fear and shyness.

Swami Achyuteshanandaji, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar, inspired students with his address at the Secondary and Higher Secondary sections. Sarada Vidyalaya marked the day with a special assembly and readings from Swami Vivekananda’s works.

The half-day devotees' convention drew around 150 initiated devotees from Narottam Nagar, Deomali, and Mopaya. The program featured guided meditation, Gita chanting, stotra recitation, bhajans, and discourses on the life and teachings of the Holy Trio. Bhajans were rendered by devotees' groups from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, as well as by monastic members and students from the Higher Secondary Hostel.

A special pandal was erected at the confluence, where bhog was offered to Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi. Devotees offered pushpanjali, and the sanctified flowers were reverently released into the waters. A special arati was also performed at Sarada Sangam.


The program concluded with the distribution of lunch prasad to all devotees.

Smt. K. C. Lowangcha, DDSE, Tirap graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, declared the meet open, and felicitated the winners.

The two-day event showcased outstanding athletic spirit, teamwork, and enthusiasm from the students.

The meet concluded with Swami Achyuteshananda, Secretary of the institution, ceremonially lowering the flag and handing over the torch to the champions of the academic year.

The Annual Prize Giving Ceremony of Ramakrishna Mission School, Narottam Nagar, was held on December 19, 2025, with great solemnity and enthusiasm.

Shri Liyi Bagara, APCS (AG), Deputy Commissioner, Tirap, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Recalling his student days at Ramakrishna Mission Aalo, he urged students to broaden their outlook and identify themselves first as Indians, inspiring them to become responsible citizens and nation builders.

The programme was presided over by Swami Jnanavratananda ji Maharaj, Treasurer, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, who inspired the students with Swami Vivekananda’s message: “Love India” and “Have faith in yourself.”

The dignitaries released Narottam, the school's annual magazine. Academic and sports prizes were awarded to meritorious students, and devotional bhajans added a cultural touch to the celebration.

On 11 November 2025, after a challenging five-hour journey through the Patkai ranges along the India–Myanmar border, the relief team comprising two monastic members, staff, and students of Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar, reached Kamhua Noknu village in the Pongchau Circle of Longding district.

As part of its ongoing Winter Relief Programme, the institution, in association with Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, distributed 666 blankets among 1,979 beneficiaries from 300 families, extending much-needed support to the communities residing in these remote border areas at the onset of winter.

In a gesture of gratitude, the villagers gifted vegetables such as pumpkin, squash, bottle gourd and other gourds, ginger, and local greens for the tribal boys residing in the institution.

It is through the benevolent support of the devotees and well-wishers of the Ramakrishna Mission that such service activities are being carried out in this remote corner of Mother India.

Why Banyan?

The Banyan tree is deeply rooted in Indian tradition. It represents endurance, community, and spiritual depth. Planting it in these two sacred spaces is a reminder that growth begins with intention—and that nature, when honored, becomes a living part of our legacy.

The day was marked by a special puja and havan, during which the newcomers took an oath and placed bilva leaves into the sacred fire. Following this, senior students welcomed the freshers and introduced themselves. In the evening, at the Vivekananda Sabhagriha, the newcomers showcased a vibrant cultural performance that captivated the audience. Many guardians and guests from Makum, Tinsukia, Kolkata, Itanagar, and beyond attended the program.
