The day-long programme brought together nearly <strong>400 youth from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam</strong>, along with teachers and monks, to inspire character-building and self-development in the light of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals.<br><br></span></p><p style="text-align:left;"><span>The convention opened with devotional songs, lamp-lighting, and Vedic chanting, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. Sessions focused on themes such as <em>“Man-Making, Character-Building Education”</em> and <em>“Modern-Day Problems and the Youth.”</em> Eminent speakers, including <strong>Swami Shubhakaranandaji Maharaj</strong> (Agartala) and <strong>Swami Bodhamayanandaji Maharaj</strong> (Hyderabad), delivered impactful addresses on cultivating self-respect, integrity, and concentration as foundations of success and noble character.</span></p><p style="text-align:left;"><span><br></span></p><p style="text-align:left;"><span>Cultural performances, documentary screenings, and an interactive <em>“Youth Speaks”</em> session enriched the programme, encouraging active participation and dialogue. The convention concluded with reflections from students and teachers, distribution of certificates, and a call to action urging youth to apply the lessons in daily life.</span></p></div>

This event represents the first major step in replacing the old NEFA-era hostel buildings and reaffirms the Mission’s enduring commitment to education, character-building, and tribal welfare in Arunachal Pradesh.</strong></span></p><p style="text-align:left;"><span>The programme, comprising a ribbon-cutting, plaque unveiling, and a public meeting, was graced by <strong>Shri Chowna Mein, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh</strong>, as the Chief Guest. The event was presided over by <strong>Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj</strong>, President of the worldwide Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.<br><br></span></p><p style="text-align:left;"><span>Other distinguished dignitaries included:</span></p><ul><li><p style="text-align:left;"><span><strong>Shri Pasang Dorjee Sona</strong>, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Tourism, Rural Works, Parliamentary Affairs and Libraries</span></p></li><li><p style="text-align:left;"><span><strong>Shri Wangki Lowang</strong>, Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Forest, Geology, Mining &amp; DoTCL</span></p></li><li><p style="text-align:left;"><span><strong>Shri Wanglin Lowangdong</strong>, Hon’ble MLA, Borduria</span></p></li></ul><p style="text-align:left;"><span><br> The Deputy Chief Minister formally inaugurated the edifice by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque. This was followed by <strong>Shri Pasang Dorjee Sona</strong> inaugurating the hostel lift, while the indoor sports facility was jointly inaugurated by <strong>Shri Wangki Lowang</strong> and <strong>Shri Wanglin Lowangdong</strong>, underscoring the institution’s emphasis on holistic student development.</span></p><p style="text-align:left;"><span><br> At the <strong>Vivekananda Sabhagriha</strong>, the public meeting commenced with ceremonial lamp-lighting amidst Vedic chanting by monks, creating a serene spiritual atmosphere. In his welcome address, <strong>Swami Achyuteshanandaji</strong>, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar, expressed gratitude to the State Government for its support in strengthening educational infrastructure. He also submitted a memorandum requesting a 200-bed Boys’ Hostel and 64 staff quarters to replace buildings that have served for over five decades.</span></p><p style="text-align:left;"><span><br> In his address, <strong>Shri Chowna Mein</strong> praised the peaceful and disciplined campus environment and acknowledged the institution’s contribution to Arunachal Pradesh by enhancing educational quality and nurturing technocrats, entrepreneurs, doctors, and bureaucrats. He reaffirmed the Government’s continued support and announced the sanction of the proposed 200-bedded hostel for junior boys and 64 staff quarters, which was warmly welcomed by all present.</span></p><p style="text-align:left;"><span><strong><br> Shri Wanglin Lowangdong</strong> encouraged students to follow the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing that true success is measured by values rather than achievements. <strong>Shri Pasang Dorjee Sona</strong> fondly recalled his student days at Ramakrishna Mission, Aalo, and remembered how Swami Gautamanandaji inspired students with stories from the <em>Ramayana</em> and <em>Mahabharata</em>. <strong>Shri Wangki Lowang</strong>, an alumnus of Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar, expressed his dream of seeing the institution grow into a college and eventually a university.</span></p><p style="text-align:left;"><span><br> In his benedictory address, <strong>Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj</strong> reflected on his years of service in Arunachal Pradesh, speaking warmly of the sincerity and purity of heart of the students of the region. At 98 years of age, the revered Swami remains active and is fondly remembered by his students from his decade-long service in the then NEFA and Arunachal Pradesh during the 1970s and 80s.</span></p></div>

Swami Amiteshananda Ji, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission, Haflong, unfurled the National Flag, which was followed by a general salute and an impressive march-past by the students. </div>
<div style="text-align:left;"><br></div><div style="text-align:left;"> After the march-past, students presented a vibrant array of cultural programmes that highlighted the spirit of unity and patriotism. At the conclusion of the function, refreshment packets were distributed to all participants and attendees. </div>
<div style="text-align:left;"><br></div><div style="text-align:left;"> In addition to the campus celebration, students proudly represented the institution at the Sub-Divisional Level Republic Day programme held at Deomali General Field on the same day. Their performances—including a mime act, pyramid formation, band display, and a patriotic dance—were widely appreciated by the audience and earned them high praise. </div>

The program featured guided meditation, Gita chanting, stotra recitation, bhajans, and discourses on the life and teachings of the Holy Trio. Bhajans were rendered by devotees' groups from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, as well as by monastic members and students from the Higher Secondary Hostel.<br><br></p><p style="text-align:left;">A special pandal was erected at the confluence, where bhog was offered to Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi. Devotees offered pushpanjali, and the sanctified flowers were reverently released into the waters. A special arati was also performed at Sarada Sangam.</p><p style="text-align:left;"><br></p><p style="text-align:left;">The program concluded with the distribution of lunch prasad to all devotees.</p></div>

Recalling his student days at Ramakrishna Mission Aalo, he urged students to broaden their outlook and identify themselves first as Indians, inspiring them to become responsible citizens and nation builders. </div>
