Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar
Started in 1971, Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar primarily focuses on delivering educational services to the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

Ramakrishna Mission
Founded by Swami Vivekananda in 1897, the Ramakrishna Mission embodies his vision: “He who serves Jiva, serves Shiva.”
For over a century, it has grown into a global network of Ashramas, inspiring courage, dedication, love, and selfless service. Its story is one of progress—uplifting society materially and spiritually.

Arunachal Pradesh
Education has always been the heartbeat of Arunachal Pradesh. Responding to the people’s call, the Ramakrishna Mission began its journey here in the 1960s, establishing schools at Along and Narottam Nagar, a hospital at Itanagar and later a school in Lumdung.
Nestled in the sylvan foothills of Tirap, the School evokes the ancient Gurukul spirit, blessed by the Buridhing river and sustained by the vision of local leaders who donated land for its growth.

The Beginning in NEFA
The vision for Ramakrishna Mission in Arunachal Pradesh began with Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who in 1965 urged the Mission to serve the tribal people through education and healthcare. Supported by Governor Vishnu Sahay, her appeal reflected deep faith in the Mission’s ideals of selfless service.
Welcomed for its commitment to man-making activities rather than cultural or religious imposition, the Mission’s entry into NEFA marked a turning point in the region’s educational and social progress.
